Avant Homes to bring 252 new homes to Jackton
Housebuilder Avant Homes is set to build 252 new homes in Jackton following the approval of a £68.8 million development in the East Kilbride town.
Located just off Jackton Road, the 19.1-acre development will form part of the wider East Kilbride Community Growth Area (CGA).
Once complete, the project will extend the town of East Kilbride by an additional 2,500 homes and provide the community with a new primary school, five play areas, well-designed green space and small-scale retail outlets.
The Avant Homes development will deliver a highly desirable collection of design-led two, three and four-bedroom homes across 17 of its signature housetypes and will create numerous local sales and construction jobs.
Works are due to commence in March 2020, with the marketing suite opening in August and showhomes following shortly after in autumn 2020. The first homes will be ready for occupation by early 2021 with the overall build expected to take five years to complete.
Avant Homes Scotland and north east England area managing director, Scott Varley, said: “East Kilbride has become an increasingly desirable place to live for a wide range of buyers, so we’re very pleased to have secured planning approval for this new development.
“This exciting new neighbourhood will complete the link road between Lyndsayfield and Eaglesham Road, connecting the community of Lyndsayfield and meeting the long-term housing requirements for the area.”
As well as providing high quality new homes, Avant Homes will also contribute more than £6.3m towards local infrastructure, including the completion of the link road and local road improvements, alongside investment in local education provision.
CALA Homes (West) has also secured planning approval for a development within the East Kilbride CGA.
The housebuilder plans to commence the delivery of 173 homes south-east of Eaglesham Road in June.
