Barratt & David Wilson Homes gives planning notice for new Monifieth development
Barratt & David Wilson Homes has lodged a Proposal of Application Notice with Angus Council outlining its plans for a new housing development to the north of Monifieth.
The notice outlines the housebuilder’s proposals to deliver new homes at the site, which lies to the north east of Monifieth between the current town edge and the A92.
According to the notice, the approach set out will enable the long-term sustainable growth of the town with the provision of up to 300 much-needed high quality new homes for sale alongside affordable homes.
The design proposed will also enhance the local area by retaining and enhancing existing features, such as Monifieth Burn, to create an attractive environment with greater opportunities for walking and cycling. A new road connection is also proposed linking Victoria Street and Broomhill Drive, which will help to reduce traffic within the town.
A virtual consultation event is to be held online from 3pm until 7pm on September 15 at www.MonifiethNorth.co.uk. Members of the project team will be available at this time to respond to questions submitted via the website, while additional comments can be provided by email to monifieth@ryden.co.uk up to September 27.
David Palmer, managing director for Barratt North Scotland, added: “There is enormous demand in the Monifieth area for new homes, as evidenced by the outstanding success of our previous development at Victoria Grange in 2019. This site presents an excellent opportunity to fulfil this need while also enhancing the local area and enabling its sustainable long term growth.
“We look forward to engaging with the community throughout the consultation and are committed to taking their feedback on board throughout.”
