A new housing development in Bearsden has been shortlisted for another two top property awards.

Bield’s St Andrew’s View development has been nominated in the Best Apartment Category and the Affordable Development of the Year Category at this year’s The Herald Property Awards.

The Herald Property Awards were founded in 2007 to honour the achievements of the most innovative and successful house builders, developers and registered social landlords.

Susan Jackson, sales and marketing manager at Bield, said: “We are absolutely delighted that St Andrew’s View has been shortlisted for another two top property accolades.

“In particular, it says something about the quality of the build and the concept behind St Andrew’s View that we have been nominated in a category not specifically for social housing.

“We wanted to build a development tailored for older people that is indistinguishable from any other new build property on the market and we are thrilled that our efforts are being recognised.”

The nominations follow on from Bield’s success at this year’s Scottish Home Awards where St Andrew’s View was named Senior Living Development of the Year.

The judges said of the development: “Our winner stood out as a beautiful tranquil and integral part of this new community which is close to all amenities. St Andrew’s View has a strong community emphasis which we thought provided a complete service with a deep understanding of senior living needs.”

St Andrew’s View offers older buyers the chance to enjoy the freedom of independent living with the option of the right help when they need it.

The 20 one and two-bed modern apartments are designed to specifically meet the needs of prospective purchasers and have been built to an uncompromising standard for Bield.

Apartments are available on a shared ownership basis.
