Clair has over 20 years’ experience in the social housing sector and has been leading Cassiltoun’s regeneration and social enterprise programme since 2010. She is a well-known and highly respected professional in the Scottish Social housing and wider social enterprise and third sector organisations.

Anna Stuart MBE, chair of Cassiltoun Housing Association, said: “We were delighted with the number of high quality candidates we had for the position which reflects Cassiltoun’s reputation within the sector as a high performing organisation and an IIP Platinum employer. We are confident that we have found the right leader. Clair will work with the Board and the staff team to maintain our high standards and lead the delivery of our strategic objectives.”

Clair Malpas said: “It will be an exciting and challenging time to take over at Cassiltoun. I am looking forward to seeing our development programme deliver new social housing in Castlemilk whilst also maintaining high service standards for both our new and current tenants. Coupled with this are the challenges the whole sector faces with increased Regulation and social and economic conditions that face our tenants.

“Charlie leaves the organisation in a strong position and with a clear legacy of community control, tenant involvement, high quality services and most importantly an engaged and enthusiastic Board and staff team.”

A rigorous recruitment process was supported by external consultants Aspen.

Retiring CEO Charlie Millar added: “Clair is a vastly experienced officer with great knowledge of the Scottish housing sector and is fully aware of the future challenges facing the sector. Clair has many qualities that will make her an outstanding CEO and I wish her every success in her new role.”
