CCG begins Waverley bathroom renewals and Edinburgh housing upgrade

CCG Asset ManagementCCG (Scotland) Ltd has commenced works on a new bathroom renewal contract for Waverley Housing Association and a housing upgrade project in Edinburgh.

Located in Hawick, the contract for Waverley will cover the removal of the existing and installation of new bathrooms to approximately 100 properties.

The contract was procured through the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) KB3 Framework covering the installation of kitchens, bathrooms and associated services.

Stephen Riley, CCG Asset Management manager, said: “We may be Glasgow-based but AM is not fazed by travelling across the country and we are excited to commence our contract with Waverley Housing Association.

“2016 was definitely a year in which we saw more of our clients utilising the SPA Framework and we expect others to follow suit in 2017. The framework allows clients to continually engage with their preferred contractors, mitigating any risk and cost incurred through the open tender process.”

CCG Asset Management expects to be on site for a 10-12 week duration.

Meanwhile the contractor’s Specialist Building Services (SBS) division will carry out improvements to three homes on Sunbury Street.

The scheme, which is being delivered on behalf of Zurich Insurance, involves installing a liquid membrane to the roof to make it water tight; new roof lighting and extensive fabric renewal. In addition, workers will remove, restore and re-install stone cladding to install new damp proof membranes around windows and doors.

The project is expected to last 44 weeks.

Derek Gall, CCG contracts manager, said: “CCG SBS has been operational in the city for a long period of time now and we are happy to continue our work with another challenging project. Located in Old Town, the contract involves an extensive amount of work and will require strict management at site level.

“The CCG SBS Team has vast experience in this area and we are sure that once the contract is completed the homeowners at Sunbury Street will be delighted with the results.”
