Adding festive warmth to their home with a Caring Christmas Tree helps to bring much needed care and support to some of Scotland’s most vulnerable people. Priced from £40 and sustainably grown in Scotland, shoppers can buy a Grade One Nordman fir tree, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to Bethany’s work to support homeless and vulnerable people this winter.

The funding from this social enterprise helps to provide outreach, drop-in support, shelter, befriending, new opportunities and professional support to thousands of people during the harsh winter months.

Caring Christmas Trees has been running in Scotland for over 15 years, and last year the project sold 3,459 trees and raised an incredible £47,000 towards its work helping people in need across Scotland.

Alasdair Bennett, chief executive at Bethany Christian Trust, said: “When you’re buying a Christmas Tree this year why not turn it into support, outreach and practical assistance for homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland by choosing to purchase a high-quality Caring Christmas Tree. For many the harsh realities of a lonely and cold hard winter are the only outlook at Christmas.

“You can change that and by purchasing from Caring Christmas Trees you will be opening up your Christmas and giving a lifeline to support families and individuals in desperate need. We also have a virtual option! Please spread the word of this excellent opportunity.”

Regular Caring Christmas Tree customer Fiona said: “I’ve had a Caring Christmas tree for a number of years - I’m glad that my purchase of something that feels luxurious can help someone in need. My tree lasts through til Twelfth Night, it smells fantastic and when I go to pick it up there’s always a great sense of camaraderie amongst the team of volunteers. Everyone wins!”

Caring Christmas Trees are available to pre-purchase online www.caringchristmastrees.com or by calling 0345 111 8733 from October 29. The trees will be ready for collection at various locations in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fife in December, with an option for delivery at the end of November and early December in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
