Council leader opens Partick’s £6.5m Broomhill Gate development

pha-broomleaThe official opening of Partick Housing Association’s new £6.5 million housing development at Broomhill Gate has been carried out by Councillor Frank McAveety, leader of Glasgow City Council.

This 46 unit development in Glasgow’s West End includes 14 three-bedroom social rented town houses, 18 two-bedroom mid market rent flats and 14 units of supported accommodation.

Partick Housing Association chair, Les Milne, said: “This is another exciting development by Partick Housing Association. There’s a real shortage of good quality affordable housing in the West End. By building new homes on the site of the former Broomlea School, we’re showing our continuing commitment to meeting local housing needs. We’re sure that our new tenants will love staying at Broomhill Gate.

“We’d like to acknowledge the support of Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government, as well as the work of MAST Architects, Cruden Building & Renewals and others involved in delivering these wonderful new homes.”

Councillor Frank McAveety added: “I was delighted to see these fantastic new flats and houses at Broomhill Gate and meet some of the new residents who seemed thrilled with their new homes. This is yet another housing development that meets the diverse needs of families and individuals in the city, and the city council is pleased to have supported it.

“I would like to offer my congratulations to Partick Housing Association and all the partners involved in the project. I am sure that the most important people involved – the residents and tenants – will enjoy living in what are homes of the highest quality.”
