Fife Council is to give tenants the opportunity to have their say on potential rent options for next year at a series of tenant gathering events.

As well as discussing rent levels, and giving tenants the chance to vote on their preferences, the gatherings will give them the opportunity to meet tenant federation and local housing team.

Tenants will also have access to other local groups, organisations and support services.

Convener of the community & housing services committee, Cllr Judy Hamilton, said: “Instead of one conference like in the past, we’ll be taking the tenant gathering out to local communities this year. We really appreciate the efforts of tenants who participate in these sorts of events as it helps to give us a steer in terms of setting rent levels for council homes, which will be applied from April 2018.

“We hope tenants will take time to give their views and I would encourage everyone to come along and have their say. These are drop-in events and tenants are free to pop in at any time during each gathering to tell us how you want to see your rent spent, what you think of where you live and how you want to work with the council.”

‘Marketplace’ events will be happening at:

  • Vine Church, Dunfermline on Wed 27 Sept, 3-6pm
  • Templehall Community Centre on Fri 29 Sept, 2-5pm
  • Cupar Corn Exchange on Thurs 5 Oct, 3-6pm
  • Rothes Halls, Fri 6 Oct on 10am-2pm.
