Janet Strang, chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association (CHA), who handed over the cheque last week, said: “The Association is committed to supporting local organisations who work hard to bring new and exciting events to the area. The Castlehill Carnival on Saturday 18th June was an excellent opportunity for members of the community to go along to see Knights Joust and to learn more about the Castle’s history.”

Frank Sweeney, chief executive of Cunninghame Housing Association, added: “As a Community Anchor Housing Association and Social Enterprise and accepting our stated commitment of ‘Making Our Communities Better Places’, the Association actively looks to give its financial support to local organisations that give benefit and added value to the community.

“CHA’s Voluntary Board of Management is delighted to be able to support this excellent local community event organised by volunteers who have done a magnificent job in securing funding for this free event.”
