Edinburgh-based Custom Build Homes (CBH) has appointed John Baird as its new enabling coordinator.

Assuming his new role, Mr Baird will support the company’s mission which is to diversify the supply of new homes by making it possible for everyone to design and customise their own home, resulting in beautiful new places to live.

Tom Connor, founder at Custom Build Homes, said he was excited by the appointment after learning about Mr Baird’s excellent apprenticeship as a two-year graduate with London-based developer The Berkeley Group and his skill set in project management and pre-construction.

He added: “We are delighted that John has decided to join CBH. His role will be integral to the success of new custom build developments as he will oversee our Enabling Process from raw land through to sale and manage the relationship with many of our fantastic clients.”

The role sees Mr Baird work closely with Mario Wolf, director of planning & strategic engagement, who described the appointment as a positive step taken in otherwise difficult times.

Mr Wolf said: “I have been impressed with John’s knowledge and appetite to gain further understanding of the discrete custom housebuilding sector that is beginning to emerge and scale. I look forward to working collaboratively and I am sure together we can achieve the results we strive for.”

This appointment coincides with the development of a discrete five-year growth plan which, when adopted, will spark a larger recruitment drive to deliver sustained growth and long-term success.
