A design team led by Collective Architecture with Rankin Fraser, Carbon Futures, G3 Engineers and Brown + Wallace have brought forward detailed plans for 92 affordable homes and six ground floor commercial units aimed at community-focused ventures on the east side of the site, much of which is currently used as a car park.

To be developed by CCG (Scotland), the flats will all have two bedrooms and will be for mid-market affordable rent.

The proposal came after Glasgow City Council approved the off-market disposal of the land to Govan Housing Association last year for £360,000.

The site is one of 23 in the city where Glasgow City Council will dispose of land to local housing associations, with the aim of meeting the council’s strategic housing, social and economic objectives, as well as supporting inward investment.

A masterplan for the Water Row area was approved last year and ties in with the Govan/Partick pedestrian/cycle bridge. A second phase is planned on the west of the site.
