Disability group launches online resource

Over the FenceMembers of the Disabled Persons Housing Service in Fife have launched a national resource which they helped develop.

The new Over the Fence website provides information and advice on how to get care services and support.

The independent disability led group based in Kirkcaldy and other people from across Scotland developed the site which offers practical advice and local contacts based on their experiences.

Now members and volunteers at DPHS are helping to spread the word to other people in Fife who can benefit from the website.

Over the Fence was developed by Outside the Box which is a charity working across Scotland.

It is part of a range of information and advice to help people have more control over the support they get as well as giving them more choice.

It earned a grant from the Scottish Government to get it up and running.

As well as the website, there are postcards, posters and bookmarks to spread the word about how it can help.

Launched as part of self directed support awareness week, it is one of a series of events organised by charities and local authorities as part of the week.
