The charity, which has operated out of the church for free for five years, will need to find a new home within three months.

Co-founder Mike Cordiner told the Evening Telegraph: “There’s no immediate rush but we will probably have to be out of our premises within the next three months. We’re not panicking but we are keen to know if anyone has any empty premises that may be suitable for us.

“We have been very lucky where we are because we haven’t had to pay any rent at all, but we would be able to afford a small lease.

“Our needs are fairly specific. We would require a decent kitchen, space for couches and tables, an office room or two, and if possible with parking and somewhere to store the van.

“Ideally, the new premises would be within the city centre, or somewhere easily accessible and within walking distance.”

Mr Cordiner said the charity was also considering a change in its services: “We have no definite plans yet, but are considering what they could do differently in the future to help vulnerable people in the city. We will use this move to look at how we plan to go forward.”
