Eildon continues to provide more Borders homes
Eildon Housing has hailed the “tremendous” progress which has been made to deliver more new affordable homes across the Borders despite delays caused by the pandemic.
Since launching its ambitious five-year strategy for inclusive growth across the Borders in 2019, Eildon has been working with customers to hear first-hand what they value and what they want Eildon to focus on.
Construction work continues despite the difficulties of the last year and ground-breaking green pilot sites begin in May which will lead the way for Scotland in how new homes of the future are built. Eildon’s first Passivhaus development in Newtown St Boswells has been a great success with customers experiencing lower fuel bills in its fight to eradicate fuel poverty.
Planning is also in for homes at the Former High School in Earlston, High Buckholm and St Aidan’s in Galashiels. All of these homes are for social rent at affordable levels.
A spokesperson for Eildon said: “This is fantastic news and means more families can benefit from high quality, warm, energy efficient places to live.”
