ENGIE to deliver energy efficient housing improvement projects in East Ayrshire

Energy, services and regeneration company ENGIE has been appointed to deliver two projects in East Ayrshire that will upgrade housing stock in the area while increasing the energy efficiency of resident’s homes.

The firm will deliver render upgrades and external improvements for East Ayrshire Council to properties across Kilmaurs and North West Kilmarnock. The company has also been successful in winning a contract to install external wall insulation and exterior improvements in Kilmarnock for the Energy Agency, which will make tenants and owner’s homes warmer and improve the external appearance.

The two contracts further build on the long-standing relationship ENGIE has with East Ayrshire Council and the Energy Agency.

As well as providing valuable carbon reduction measures in housing stock, both projects aim to give work placement and employment opportunities to those in the local area. ENGIE’s approach is to work with the council to regenerate local communities and keep them central to the delivery of the community benefits by engaging with local SMEs, the local community and third sector organisations.

Brian Pettigrew, regional managing director in Scotland for ENGIE Places & Communities, said: “We are very pleased to assist both East Ayrshire Council and the Energy Agency again, two organisations who we’ve enjoyed a great working relationship with over the last few years.

“These significant home improvements across East Ayrshire will play an important role in future-proofing housing stock for the council and offering the best in energy efficiency to improve the lives of customers.”

ENGIE has confirmed work will progress across both projects within the next month.
