Fife Housing Group (FHG) is going walkabout to help improve the communities its tenants live in.

The new programme of Estate Walkabouts for 2015 has been launched, with the first event taking place in Park Road, Rosyth tomorrow.

Estate Walkabouts involve housing officers and other officials from Fife Housing Group, along with local councillors and members of partner agencies, meeting with tenants to identify areas of concern in their community.

This can include rubbish, dog fouling, communal areas requiring repairs and anti-social behaviour. FHG will then work with these tenants and its partners to try to resolve the problems.

Interim asset and commercial business director, Su Bramley, said: “Estate walkabouts are a really good way for us to meet with our tenants in the areas they live in so that they can tell us about the issues which are important to them.

“We can then work with our partners to resolve these problems. Sometimes, finding a solution to a reasonably simple issue can make a real difference to a tenant and their enjoyment of their home and the area they live in.

“This is an important part of making sure that we are not just a landlord, but really listening to our tenants and being accountable to their needs.”
