Gas compliance firm looks for Scottish growth with key appointment

John McLaren

John McLaren joins Gas Tag from Capita and has over 30 years experience in the housing sector, working in a range of roles for local authorities, housing providers and suppliers of housing software.

The appointment of John, who has worked at Capita for more than eight years and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), is seen as a coup for the Liverpool headquartered scale up. A well-respected figure within the industry, it is hoped that John will lead Gas Tag’s growth in the Scottish social housing market in his role as regional account manager.

John McLaren said: “I am absolutely delighted to join the team at Gas Tag. It is a really exciting time to be joining a company with huge growth ambitions and a product that is revolutionising how housing providers manage their compliance.

“Emerging technologies such as Gas Tag are changing how the sector works and are increasingly being implemented by forward-thinking providers who want to work in a more efficient way. I’m looking forward to supporting housing providers through our product offering.”

Lee Burke, director of sales at Gas Tag, said: “Scotland is one of the key areas of growth for Gas Tag and so it was important that we appointed someone with a strong background within the social housing sector there.

“John McLaren is a well-respected figure in the industry who has experience of working with housing providers of all sizes and supporting them to implement new technology. We are looking forward to working closely with him.”
