Hjaltland Housing Association updates identity as it looks to the future at new offices

Hjaltland Housing Association (HHA) has updated its corporate branding to coincide with its move to new, larger premises at the North Ness in Lerwick.

Hjaltland Housing Association updates identity as it looks to the future at new offices

A much brighter new logo that references the organisation’s distinctive housing styles and colours has been developed by local graphic designer Lou Jackson

And new vision and mission statements have been created to better reflect the core values of teamwork, openness, ownership, quality and innovation.

HHA’s vision is ‘Providing homes, supporting communities’ while its mission states: “We will provide high quality affordable homes and services in communities where people are proud to live and work.”

The Association moved from Harbour Street to North Ness in early April having run out of office space.

HHA chief executive Bryan Leask said: “The Board decided to take the opportunity of the move and the need for new signage to refresh our identity, linking it more clearly to who we are and what we do.

“I’m really pleased with the outcome – anybody looking at the logo will know it is Hjaltland Housing Association.

“We have a challenging 10 years ahead of us to deliver on the Staneyhill site and our other projects, and the new office and new look sets us up to do that.”

The Association had planned to build a new office at Staneyhill. However, when 6 North Ness Business Park became available for purchase it proved to be a much cheaper and more spacious option.

When HHA moved to the Harbour Street offices in 2005-6, it had 12 staff. It now has 23 office-based staff, and 27 staff in total. That is set to grow to 29.

Mr Leask added: “We had 300 houses in 2002 and we now have 800, rising to 1,200 when Staneyhill is completed in 10 years’ time.”
