Staff from Langstane Housing Association’s social justice team, together with a like-minded colleague from WorkingRite, will join 12,000 other participants under the stars as part of Social Bite’s ‘Sleep in the Park’.

On December 8 at Aberdeen’s Duthie Park, the team will be braving the weather as they raise funds for a cause very close to their hearts, the alleviation of homelessness and rough sleeping.

Over coming weeks the team will be organising fundraising events ahead of their ‘sleep out’ setting themselves a minimum goal of raising £500. In support of their colleagues, Langstane Housing Association will be making a donation to the very worthwhile cause.

Team organiser, Susan Penley, said: “This is something I’d thought about last year but unfortunately I couldn’t quite make it. This year we’re determined and have been delighted with the support we’ve received from our colleagues.”

Langstane’s chief executive, Helen Gauld, said: “We’re extremely proud of our staff. Many fundraise for causes they’re passionate about. However, sleeping outside during winter months, in Aberdeen, is fundraising at a different level. We wish them all the very best and although we cannot control the weather, we hope it is dry and not too cold.”
