Managing successful teams – Summer sessions

SHARE is passionate about supporting the future of the social housing sector, not only training new staff through modern apprentice schemes, but also supporting current housing staff to fulfil their potential and progress up the career ladder.

SHARE’s Summer sessions is a series of six half day training courses aimed at those new to management or who hope to progress into management role in the future.

Next in the series is Managing successful teams which takes place on Tuesday 25th June.

One of the challenges for a newly appointed manager, or those looking to move into management can be the move from being one of the team to leading the team.  You are now the person that the team will look to for leadership, direction, advice and maybe even the odd bit of refereeing.

This can be a difficult transition, your own manager must have seen the skills you have to appoint you but putting them into good practice can be quite different, and each team has its own unique dynamics, strengths and challenges.

This session will look at the key characteristics of an effective team; how to make sure everyone is contributing to your team equally; your own role in leading the team; developing and nurturing your team and creating a positive environment for your team to grow in.

This half-day course will serve as a useful introduction to the key principles of building and sustaining happy, engaging and productive team, without overwhelming delegates about the task at hand.  If you have recently moved into a role where you are managing a team or would like to in the near future, this session, led by Heather Ballantine, is not to be missed.
