The phased handovers of small groups of properties in the Kinellan development have added a total of twenty-one new homes to the council’s housing stock, including a range of wheelchair accessible properties and a number of family homes.

Funding for the new-builds has come from the Scottish Government and the council.

HHA, Bracewell Stirling, Compass Building and Construction Services, Stuart Burke and Kiloh Associates, Helica and Armour were all involved in delivering the homes.

Chair of the council’s Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh committee, Councillor Ian Cockburn, visited the site to look around the last properties to be handed over.

He said: “It’s great to see the development finished and tenants moving in. We are short of good social housing in the Highlands, so this is an excellent addition to Strathpeffer and Ward 5. I hope to see an introduction of more social housing to Ward 5 in the future.”
