New social housing planned for Kilwinning

North Ayrshire Council has started the planning process to deliver new affordable housing in Kilwinning.

The planned £1.584 million Corsehillhead development, supported by £413k of Scottish Government funding, will see the creation of seven new council homes, delivering a mix of general needs and amenity properties.

Construction is currently scheduled to start during autumn 2021 and works are due for completion during autumn 2022.

The proposals form part of the local authority’s vision to deliver 1,575 new homes – one of the most ambitious council house building programmes in the UK.

Councillor Jim Montgomerie, cabinet member for Green New Deal and sustainability, said: “Our ambitious Council housing programme has already delivered hundreds of modern, energy-efficient homes across North Ayrshire and we are well on track to meet our target of 1,575 new council houses.

“This Corsehillhead development is one in a series of housing projects we have underway in our quest to help change people’s lives for the better and transforming communities in every part of North Ayrshire is a key part of that aim.”
