North Lanarkshire Council urges households to switch and save on energy bills

It Pays to SwitchWith average savings of £271, ‘It pays to switch’ is the message North Lanarkshire Council is promoting to residents as it launches its latest collective fuel switching campaign.

Over 3,000 households have already saved hundreds of pounds on their bills through the easy to use switching scheme.

The campaign is open to all households, both private and rented across the authority and beyond, and takes only a few minutes to sign-up.

Switching supplier is free, quick and there is no obligation to switch if people wish to remain with their existing supplier.

Des Murray, assistant chief executive of housing and enterprise, explained: “Our scheme makes it simple for everyone to save on their bills.

“We are encouraging as many people as possible to take part and save money.

“The savings some people have made during our previous campaigns were substantial with some saving as much as £800 per year. Anyone who has taken part in our previous campaigns can also sign-up and save again.”

Registration closes at midnight on Tuesday 11 October.
