Perth & Kinross Council to hold annual tenant conference

Perth and Kinross CouncilAll Perth & Kinross Council housing tenants are being invited to attend the annual Tenant Conference 2017 on June 29.

The event will be held at the Dewar’s Centre, Perth, from 6pm to 8.30pm.

Tenants will be given feedback on the results of the recent Tenant Satisfaction Survey, and can:

  • Provide feedback to senior managers on their priorities on how their rent money should be spent;
  • Influence the options for rent levels in 2017/18 which will be discussed at the Winter Forum in November;
  • Learn more about how the council can make rents affordable and value for money for tenants now and in the future;
  • Get an update on how the council is transforming our Repairs Service.
  • There will be a range of stalls at the event with information on health, housing, tenant participation, locality and community services, as well as information on welfare reform support. The Citizens’ Advice Bureau Perth and Perth and Kinross Credit Union will also be on hand to offer advice.

    Children’s activities will be available to keep the little ones entertained and refreshments will be provided. Every tenant who attends the Conference will be entered into a free prize draw to win high street shopping vouchers.

    Housing and communities convener, Councillor Peter Barrett, said: “Tenants have a vital role to play in helping shape the services we provide for them and their opinions are very important to us. The Tenant Conference is a chance for tenants to make a positive input into the way their local housing services are run and how we invest the money we receive from their rents.

    “At the event we will talk to tenants about what they think their rent levels should be next year. This is something that will affect every tenant so I would urge people to come along.

    “It’s also a great opportunity for people to find out more about the services and support available in their local community and to meet new friends.”
