River Clyde Homes parties to beat the winter blues

River Clyde HomesRiver Clyde Homes is organising beat-the-blues winter parties for its ‘more mature’ customers to cheer up the over 75’s during the long dark days.

For the past two years River Clyde Homes has ran campaigns to support elderly customers over the cold winter months. These have included winter help packs which contained a torch, blankets and gel hand warmers which were issued to customers.

This year, River Clyde Homes are inviting all of its sheltered housing residents and those customers aged 75+ to get together at one of two free events in either Port Glasgow or Greenock. A highlight will be a performance from the Clydeside Singers, a local community singing group.

Jane Wallace, ExtraCare manager at River Clyde Homes, said: “In Inverclyde we recognise the impact that the long winter months can have on some of our most vulnerable residents. We would encourage everyone who has received an invite to one of the parties to confirm their attendance by calling 01475 788861 or 788845.”

Elizabeth Grant, River Clyde Homes board member, said: “This is a great initiative that encourages elderly customers to get together for a sociable afternoon. They will be able to meet their friends and meet new people.”
