River Clyde Homes publishes new kind of annual report

RCH_Annual_ReportInverclyde-based housing association River Clyde Homes has issued its first ever report on performance, value for money and affordability.

The report differs from previous performance related publications issued as part of its Annual Report on the Scottish Social Housing Charter (ARC), as this is the first time it has included more detailed information on value for money and the affordability of rents.

The extra information is in response to feedback and comments from a number of customers and also recognition by the Board that it needs to make sure River Clyde Homes provides efficient as well as excellent services, and that ultimately its rents and charges remain affordable.

The report covers:

  • Key performance results for services that customers have said are important to them
  • Progress over the last 12 months
  • Efficiencies achieved
  • Costs when compared with others
  • Where money is spent
  • Plans for the next 12 months
  • How River Clyde Homes intends to keep rents affordable
  • Albert Henderson MBE, chair of the River Clyde Homes Board, said: “Progress overall is in the right direction. That said we know we can and need to do much more. Our plans for the next 12 months will help to tackle areas of poor performance and high costs. They will also help us to rise to our many challenges, not least welfare reform and a changing population in Inverclyde.”

    The Annual Report was once again developed in conjunction with a group of customers. By taking account of their comments regarding value for money; the costs of the booklet were reduced by 20 per cent by changing the format resulting in savings on print and postage. The booklet is also available to view online.
