Scottish Borders Housing Association proudly sponsored the Family Book Festival at the Baillie Gifford Borders Book Festival in Melrose.

We were also able to offer tickets to no less than 45 of our Tenants, to enable them to enjoy this fantastic event on what turned out to be a glorious weekend.

Tenants Phil and Tracey Holden-Rushworth took their three children, Bradley, Freja and Lainee.

Mr Holden-Rushworth said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed Chae Strathie’s show and were thrilled to hear stories brought to life by the author in interactive style. The show went down a treat! The overall vibe of the event was lovely, with a great selection of activities and workshops available for the children, which provided the perfect opportunity for the children to balance sitting listening to presentations by authors with actively taking part and being creative themselves.”

Jean-Marie Ormiston, who attended with her three children, Charlie, Savannah and Dorian, said: “Thank you very much for letting us go. We had a lovely day. Kids right enjoyed it. Great place to go.”

Chief Executive Julia Mulloy said: “As part of our commitment to supporting families in the areas we serve, we were delighted to support the Family Book Festival again this year, and to have given so many of our Tenants the opportunity to attend events over the weekend. We hope that all of our Tenants had a fantastic time.”
