Scottish Housing Regulator makes landlord directory easier to use

The Scottish Housing Regulator has improved its website to make it easier for people to access information about social landlords.

Scottish Housing Regulator makes landlord directory easier to use

The Regulator’s enhanced landlord directory marks the second phase in its work to make its website more accessible for people using different devices and assistive technologies such as screen readers.

The directory holds a wide range of useful material about each of Scotland’s social landlords, including information on each landlord’s performance, how the Regulator is engaging with it, financial information, a service profile and contact details for each landlord. The directory also includes a tool to compare landlords’ performance.

Iain Muirhead, director of digital and business support, said: “Last year we launched a new, modern website that’s easier to access and easy to use. We said we’d keep working to improve it further. The improved landlord directory is the second step in that work.

“It brings together all of the existing functions of our original social landlord directory with the new, modern, and more accessible design of our website. The new directory looks better across different devices such as mobile phones and tablets and it works better for people using assistive technologies.

“We planned this improvement before the coronavirus crisis. We decided to go ahead with the change because it will make it easier for people to access important landlord information. I’d like to thank all of the tenants, landlords and others who gave their time to help in the design and testing of the website. I hope users see the full benefit once we recover from the pandemic and the sector returns to normal.”
