This development will deliver a choice of two, three, and four-bedroom homes to provide a range of options for first-time buyers and growing families.

Taylor Wimpey is committed to supporting, and investing in, the communities in which it builds and in October last year Taylor Wimpey West Scotland launched its Apprenticeship Academy with nearby Ayrshire College. Based at the local campus in Ayr, this collaboration forms an important part of its drive and commitment to invest in young talent and future-proofing the business by maintaining a supply of high-quality tradespeople coming into the industry.

Colin Blair, technical director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are so pleased to have acquired the land at Wood Farm in Kilwinning, and to now get ready to begin the construction of our new homes later this year and cements our commitment to the wider North Ayrshire area.

“As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes and making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in.

“We are also proud to have established our Training Academy locally within Ayrshire College to support our current bricklaying and joinery apprentices working with us at our sites across the west of Scotland, including Willow Gardens in Kilwinning, as well provide our support for this year’s intake into the Bricklaying and Joinery courses.”

Taylor Wimpey said it also strives to create developments where people want to call home and to bring communities together. Willow Gardens in Kilwinning was named following a competition for school children at nearby Abbey Primary School.

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director, added: “It is incredibly important to us to get involved in the local communities in which we build, and we are delighted to confirm the name of our development - Willow Gardens - combines the best of two competition entries from Kaitlyn Wilson (Primary 5/6) and Lewis Elliot (Primary 7A), and we are looking forward to creating a development that will form part of the existing local community and be  a great place to call home.”
