Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) to East Lothian Council which outlines its intention to submit a planning application for a residential development on land to the west of Greendykes Road in Macmerry.

The housebuilder is preparing to deliver 90-100 new homes in a mix of two, three and four bedroom styles, of which 25% will be affordable. The land outlined for the proposed development is identified in the emerging Local Development Plan which is currently at examination with the Scottish Government.

This is the initial stage of the process for this proposed development, and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland will now begin a programme of community engagement which will include a public consultation event later this year.

The public consultation event will give the firm the opportunity to share its proposals for the development with members of the public, and to listen to their views as the plans for this key development evolve over the coming months.

Pauline Mills, land & planning director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, added: “Our Proposal of Application Notice for land west of Greendykes Road in Macmerry allows us to begin the very important process of community engagement to discuss our development proposals for the area which will include a public consultation event later this year.

“We are fully committed to a detailed programme of engagement with local communities throughout the lifetime of our developments, and a public consultation event as part of the overall process allows us to understand and consider the views from as many stakeholders as possible as we develop our proposal.

“Whilst the event will not be held until later in the year, we would like to take this opportunity of encouraging as many people as possible to be involved in our community consultation programme in order to share their views so that we may consider these as we develop our emerging development proposal. We will take the opportunity to promote the event locally nearer the time.”
