Updated Covid-19 guidance issued for social landlords

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) has updated its guidance for social landlords amid new Covid-19 restrictions and the ‘stay at home’ message issued by the Scottish Government on Monday.

Following the announcement of new restrictions and the temporary lockdown now in place for mainland Scotland, SFHA convened an emergency meeting of the Social Housing Resilience Group (SHRG) earlier this week to discuss how best to support the sector to respond to the latest guidance.

While the guidance with regards to repairs/maintenance and home moves is unchanged from that issued under Tier 4, the SFHA said it is critical to now view this through the lens of the new ‘stay at home’ message issued by the First Minister.

As a result, SFHA has now updated the Guide to Managing Services (previously the Guide to Restarting Services) in line with the new ‘stay at home’ guidance. In addition to updated hyperlinks throughout, the latest version of the guide also includes the following additions:

  • Additional links to other resources (p2)
  • Updates and additional links for new ‘stay at home’ guidance (p4, p18-19, p37)
  • Updates and additional links for identifying key workers (p8 & p24)
  • Appendix E: Example staff communication following latest ‘stay at home’ guidance (p9, p39-40)

A letter to RSLs from housing minister Kevin Stewart and COSLA is also expected to be issued in the next few days.
