Tenants of West Lothian Housing Partnership (WLHP) have praised improvements made to their homes for making them feel proud of where they live.

WLHP, part of Wheatley Group, is well under way on its £1.3 million programme of modernising tenants’ homes.

New kitchens have been installed in homes in Blackburn, Boghall and Livingston.

The improvements are part of WLHP’s five-year ‘Investing in Our Futures’ strategy which will see more done than ever before for tenants and communities.

Tenant Tracey Meechan, from Blackburn, is delighted with her new kitchen installed at the end of last year.

Tracey, 36, who lives with husband Paul and 10-year-old son Lucas, said: “The new kitchen is lovely. It’s made a big difference. The old kitchen had seen better days, but this is much nicer.

“I got to choose the worktops, colour scheme and the flooring. It looks good and I’m so proud I can show it to anyone.

“It’s nice to see WLHP investing in their homes like this. You want to be proud of your home.”

WLHP director Rebecca Wilson said: “The next five years will see WLHP do more than we’ve ever done before to modernise our tenants’ homes. It’s an exciting time.”

Next month, WLHP will start replacing boilers in its homes in Craigshill, Livingston and Blackburn.
