The group set their sights on sending 20 guides, rangers and leaders from Crieff and Dunkeld on an international trip to learn more about girl guides globally. The guides got to work and began raising money raising money through a range of activities – from bag packing in M&S to holding stalls at the Christmas market in the town.

Persimmon North Scotland buyer Claire McColl, who lives in the town, visited the group to hand over a £1,000 cheque to support their fundraising efforts.

The group received the £1,000 donation through Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which supports charities and good causes in the areas the company operates in. The programme has seen more than £360,000 donated across Scotland in the last five years.

James MacKay, Persimmon North Scotland managing director, said: “We’re delighted to support the 1st Crieff Guides with this donation, which we hope will support local guides to attend their trip.

“Our Community Champions scheme is all about supporting the communities we operate in, and I hope the guides are looking forward to their upcoming adventure.”
