46 new homes plan lodged for Merchiston
7N Architects has submitted a planning application for 46 new homes including affordable and a significant proportion of family housing on the site of 96 Temple Park Crescent in Merchiston, Edinburgh.
The proposals seek to repair a long standing gap in the tenement streetscape, embracing a unique water-front setting with generous shared amenity and landscaping fronting onto the Union Canal.
Working with client S1 Developments, 7N said the project will deliver a varied mix of one, two and three bed apartments on brownfield land providing much needed housing in the city centre.
Designed in collaboration with Wardell Armstrong, landscaped amenity gardens will provide high quality spaces for play, communal growing and relaxation in order to promote well-being and a sense of community for all future residents.
The practice added: “All dwellings are designed with flexible family living in mind with secure cycle storage, electric car charging, city car club provision and close proximity to public transport links making it easier for residents to lead a sustainable lifestyle.”
