48 flats planned on site of FourSquare warehouse in Edinburgh
Plans have been submitted to replace an Edinburgh warehouse used by charity FourSquare with private and affordable apartments.
Kelvin Properties wants to demolish the property on Logie Green Road and develop a 48-unit residential block.
The existing building is currently used by FourSquare to run the Edinburgh Furniture Initiative (EFI) that supports people who are homeless by providing accommodation and support. The sale of this property is part of FourSquare’s ongoing strategy to release funds to allow the purchase of more residential space.
FourSquare is proposing to relocate EFI to a different location which is larger and more easily accessible.
Key designs principles drawn up by CDA architects and landscape architects Oobe include:
- Redevelopment of brownfield site close to city centre
- 25% affordable housing provision
- High quality family housing
- South facing shared communal green space
- Maximising dual aspect
- Low car provision
- Prioritising sustainable measures.
