Aberdeen residents invited to Community Planning drop-in events

People living in Aberdeen are being invited to share their views on what matters most to them at a series of Community Planning drop-in events, which get underway this month.

Community Planning Aberdeen is the name for the local partnership of public, private and third sector organisations and communities working together to improve people’s lives across Aberdeen.

Gathering people’s opinions will enable Community Planning Aberdeen to help them refresh the city’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan 2016-26 and the three Locality Plans for North, South and Central, to ensure they reflect what matters to those living in the city. A refresh of these key plans takes place every two years.

Since its launch in 2016, the Local Outcome Improvement Plan has seen significant improvements through short, medium, and long-term initiatives across the key themes of economy, people, place, and community.

Aberdeen City Council co-leader Councillor Christian Allard, chair of Community Planning Aberdeen Board, said: “The partnership’s collective vision is for Aberdeen to be a place where all people can prosper regardless of their background or circumstance. Everyone in our great city should enjoy the same opportunities to flourish as an individual and the Local Outcome Improvement Plan sets out the means for achieving this.

“It is so important that everyone living in the city, whether they are older, young, employed, unemployed, students or retired, tell us their views on what matters most to them for their city, their family and their community, and I would encourage everyone to join the conversation by coming along to the drop-in sessions or via the online engagement option.”
