Abertay bids farewell to long-standing committee member at AGM
It was all change on the Abertay Housing Association committee last week as the Association held its twenty first AGM at Fintry Parish Church in Dundee.
Following the formal business of the report from chair Dorothy Taylor and a presentation of annual accounts, the event saw five committee members stand down and four re-elected in accordance with the Association’s rules.
Abertay was sad to say farewell to Shaun Crosby who resigned and Ian Mathers who decided not to stand for re-election after being a stalwart member of the committee for nine years.
After the formal proceedings Dorothy Taylor presented prizes to Abertay’s Garden Competition winners. Prizes were available for first place and second place prize for each of the Best Garden and Best Balcony categories.
Mr McIntosh of Finella Terrace won the Garden Competition with Mr Dunn of Gordon Street taking second place. Mr Sturrock of Fintryside won the Best Balcony while Mr Gasperovics and Mrs Gasperovica came second. Thanks went to Quality Assured Property Maintenance Ltd who donated the prizes.
Attendees were then enthralled by Peter Nurick, the communities producer for the V&A Museum of Design Dundee, who had everyone present enthused about the museum and what it will offer to the local community.
After Peter’s presentation and while guests enjoyed the legendary buffet the entertainment continued with Dundee born musician and singer Tommy McPhee.
