Advertorial: Aico to use VR on exhibition stands as part of CO awareness campaign
As part of Aico’s new Carbon Monoxide campaign ‘Why would you risk it?’, the company is bringing Virtual Reality to its new stand at large exhibitions throughout 2019.
Aico has chosen to use Virtual Reality for the first time, working in partnership with Altro-Orbis.
Virtual Reality is the use of computer technology to create an engaging, immersive virtual environment and is being used to educate Aico’s customers on the effect and symptoms of Carbon Monoxide poisoning and why installing a Carbon Monoxide Alarm could save your life. Unlike traditional user interfaces, Virtual Reality places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds.
Steve Birch – managing director, Altro-Orbis, said: “We are delighted to work in partnership with Aico to host their first experience of Virtual Reality on their large stands this year. We look forward to working with Aico to help to educate people regarding Fire and Carbon Monoxide safety and help people understand how they can protect themselves.”
Jo White, marketing manager at Aico, added: “This is a great opportunity to help promote and support the sector and provide training on the required standards for Carbon Monoxide for the fire industry.”
To trial the Virtual Reality experience and know more about Carbon Monoxide please visit Aico at its upcoming shows, including FIREX and CIH Housing in June, or contact the Technical Team on 01691 664100.
Aico, an Ei company, is the market leader in residential Fire and Carbon Monoxide Alarms in the UK. All alarms are designed and built in Ireland specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations.
