The development will see the former Tarbolton Primary School demolished from January to make way for the homes.

It is estimated that the project will take around 12 months to complete.

Councillor Philip Saxton, South Ayrshire Council’s portfolio holder for housing and community wellbeing, said: “I am delighted that this development for social housing can begin early in the new year.

“We want to help people in South Ayrshire to grow well, live well and age well.

“As part of that commitment, we continue to work with our partners to deliver new housing projects which ensures that people across South Ayrshire have access to affordable homes in the area.”
