Angela Currie to take on chief executive role at Hanover Scotland
Hanover Scotland has appointed Angela Currie to the position of chief executive officer.
Currently director of operations with Blackwood Homes & Care, Ms Currie had previously been managing director with Scotland’s Housing Network so she brings substantial relevant skills and experience with her to Hanover.
Angela will take over from Helen Murdoch who will be retiring in January after 26 years with Hanover, almost 14 of those as chief executive. Indeed Angela will be only the third chief executive Hanover has had in its 40-year history.
Mike Martin, Hanover chair, said: “We were fortunate to attract a lot of very strong applicants for this post and were particularly impressed not only with Angela’s substantial track record and considerable experience but also with her manner and approach, which we feel will be a great fit for Hanover.
“Helen has been a tremendous chief executive and will leave Hanover in a confident and sustainable position with a good reputation across Scotland and I am confident that Angela will protect and enhance this but also build and develop Hanover further as we face the substantial challenges and opportunities that surely lie ahead.
“We will likely see the role of housing associations continue to evolve over the coming decade because of the policy environment, increased use of technology and changing demographics and expectations. Angela will ensure Hanover Scotland adapts to that change and maintain our position as one of Scotland’s leading housing associations delivering high quality housing and excellent services for our residents.”
