Appeal for donations as new restrictions threaten £100,000 income loss for Shelter Scotland

From Friday evening, 18 of Shelter Scotland’s 36 shops will be required to close for three weeks, which will cost the charity an estimated £100,000 in lost retail income.

Commenting on the restrictions, Shelter Scotland director Alison Watson said: “New lockdown restrictions in the West of Scotland stand to cost us £100,000 at the very time when people need us most.

“We’re asking people to donate online to keep our services going. This pandemic is hitting people hard. Anyone who’s struggling to keep a roof over their head should have access to the advice and support they need.”

Ms Watson has urged those who wish to help the charity “give home and give hope this winter” to visit shelterscotland.org/donate.
