ARCHIE alliance delivers goody bags for Edinburgh tenants
Five of the housing associations and co-operatives that are part of the ARCHIE alliance have worked in partnership to source funding from the Scottish Government’s Community Recovery Fund.
Prospect Community Housing Association, Lister Housing Co-operative, West Granton Housing Co-operative, Viewpoint Housing Association and Manor Estates Housing Association sought funding to provide a mix of different supplies of practical energy conservation items, tablets to assist with digital access and debt advice work delivered in partnership with CHAI in Edinburgh.
As a result of the successful bid, a total of just over 900 tenants from the organisations will be offered LED lightbulbs, reflective radiator panels, fabric ‘sausage dog’ draught excluders, ‘auto off’ countdown power timers and information on energy advice tips and contacts to access debt advice through external agencies.
The primary bid was co-ordinated by staff from Prospect who then worked hard to translate the funding into supplies and service arrangements.
West Granton CEO Larke Adger said: “Many thanks to the Scottish Government for their wonderful support, and to our Archie Alliance partners, especially, Prospect CHA, for working together on this important project that will be of great benefit to our tenants.”
ARCHIE, the alliance of registered co-operatives and housing associations, independent in Edinburgh, is made up of seven housing associations and co-operatives: Lister Housing Co-op, Manor Estates, Muirhouse Housing Association, Port of Leith Housing Association, Prospect Housing Association, Viewpoint Housing Association and West Granton Housing Co-operative.
