The scheme involves architects offering free, hour-long consultations to the public, in return for a small donation of £30 for the ABS. To mark the year long, Scotland wide Festival of Architecture, the Scottish Government designated year of Architecture, Design and Innovation, and to celebrate the RIAS’ Centenary year, the scheme will run throughout 2016.

Patron Carole Baxter a presenter on Scotland’s best known gardening programme, BBC’s Beechgrove Garden, said: “I am delighted once again to support this brilliant scheme. Anyone considering renovating; extending or even building a new house should sign up! Architects across Scotland are giving up their time to help homeowners whilst raising money and awareness for a very worthy charity.”

The ABS cares for architects, assistants, technologists and landscape architects and their dependants providing practical and financial help to people of all ages who have experienced redundancy, illness, accident or bereavement. Anyone who is considering making changes to their property should sign-up.
