Argyll and Bute Council housing service shortlisted for national awards
Argyll and Bute Council’s Housing Services team has had five nominations shortlisted in Shelter’s 2022 Empty Homes Awards.
The annual awards celebrate the impactful and transformative work undertaken across Scotland to bring back many of the country’s 43,000 long-term empty homes.
Argyll and Bute has been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Best Before and After (Ardbeg Road and Cullipool)
- Best Old Wreck (Cullipool and The Sheiling)
- Outstanding Team
Robin Currie, leader of Argyll and Bute Council, said: “Tackling empty homes is a priority for Argyll and Bute Council. We have to make the most effective use of the area’s existing housing stock. Not only does this help us to address local housing demand, it also helps to regenerate and support sustainable communities.
“Our housing teams do an outstanding job bringing empty homes back into use across Argyll and Bute, so it’s wonderful to see not just one, but five of their nominations being recognised and making it through to the final of these prestigious awards. I wish the team every luck.”
