Argyll Community Housing Association moves on site in Dunoon
Work to provide five three-bedroom family homes in Dunoon’s Victoria Park for Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) is now underway.
The development on ACHA owned land will be built by M&K MacLeod of Lochgilphead. The onsite work will take around a year with an anticipated handover in the Spring of 2017.
ACHA, the Scottish Government and Argyll and Bute Council have all contributed to the £811,338 project.
Alastair MacGregor, ACHA’s chief executive, said: “I am pleased that we are now on site. Not only will this development provide 5 family homes, it will provide jobs for 20 workers, including 3 apprentices, during the time on site.”
He added: “I would like to thank the Scottish Government and Argyll and Bute Council for their financial support. We could only have delivered this through the sum of our parts.”
Bruce Marshall, Cowal Councillor and ACHA board member said: “I would like to add to Alastair’s comment that I am very pleased that ACHA is increasing its housing stock in Cowal and at this very difficult time when funding for new build is so hard to get and I am pleased the Council has been able to assist to make this come about.”
