Arklet Housing Association officially deregistered by Regulator
The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) has completed the voluntary deregistration of Arklet Housing Association.
The move follows Arklet’s decision to transfer its homes to Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association.
The final transfer formalities, which were completed in November last year, saw Renfrewshire-based Arklet’s 384 properties and its residents become part of Hanover Scotland.
The Scottish Housing Regulator intervened in Arklet in February 2017, using its statutory powers to appoint a manager and three governing body members amid “serious weaknesses” in its governance and financial management. It subsequently reduced the number of appointments to the governing body to two.
The Regulator engaged with both Arklet and Hanover to oversee the transfer between the organisations, and it ended its statutory intervention in Arklet on completion of the transfer.
A message on the Regulator’s website last week read: “We have completed the voluntary de-registration of Arklet Housing Association after its decision to transfer its homes to Hanover Housing Association.”
