Award-winning weekend for Elderpark Housing
Elderpark Housing Association was delighted to see its people recognised at two different awards ceremonies over the weekend.
On Friday night, housing officer Lynn Reid won the Margaret Vass Excellence in Frontline Housing Management Award at the CIH Excellence Awards held at Murrayfield Stadium. Lynn has been at Elderpark Housing Association for the last 11 years and she has played a significant role in the community.
On Saturday evening, chairperson Elspeth Millen was awarded the Helen McGregor Committee Member of the Year Award at the EVH Annual Conference. Elspeth has been on our Committee for over 21 years with various different spells as Chairperson and has played a key role in developing the organisation. To speak only of her role on the Management Committee doesn’t do her justice as she continues to work tirelessly within the community helping others and her energy and enthusiasm for the people within the area is something to behold.
Elderpark chief executive Gary Dalziel said: “We are pleased that both Lynn and Elspeth have been recognised for their achievements. It was evident from first meeting Lynn that she really cared about her tenants. At one conversation she told me she loved her job and working with people who needed her support was the aspect she enjoyed the most.
“Elspeth has contributed massively to Elderpark, both within the organisation and also the wider community, she has been pivotal to any success we have achieved and although she wouldn’t admit it I think that the respect she has from her staff and Committee colleagues demonstrates why this award is so well deserved. It’s been a great weekend for the association and especially Lynn and Elspeth, well done to them both!”
