Ayrshire Housing has appointed Scott Cunningham as its new director of assets and compliance to oversee a significant increase in investment in its homes over the next five years.
The housing association’s recently launched Business Plan 2030 outlined an £11.4 million package of investment in new kitchens, windows, bathrooms, heating systems and energy efficiency all to be delivered by 2030.
Scott Cunningham said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Ayrshire Housing. This is an exciting time for us and I want help to build on the existing high level of service delivery and keep our tenants at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to starting my new role, especially working with the existing high preforming staff on a wide range of exciting objectives within our business plan.”
The compliance element of his new role will be to ensure the association meets all its Health & Safety obligations.
Scott, who joins from West of Scotland Housing Association, has worked previously on a number of innovative projects including retrofitting homes with infrared wallpaper. Wallpaper with infrared element heats mass instead of the air – meaning it warms people instead of the air around them – and can play a major part in keeping bills down.
Ayrshire Housing was established in 2003 through the merger of Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes. Since then it has grown rapidly to become one of the area’s leading providers of high quality, affordable rented housing managing 1700 homes in both urban and rural environments.
Lesley-Anne Junner, chief executive of Ayrshire Housing, added: “As we start the roll out of our new Business Plan 2030 Scott’s experience at managing ground breaking projects, helping to bring the latest technology into homes to make them as efficient as possible, will be a huge asset. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team.
“The agenda to make homes as efficient as possible has never been more pressing and with Scott’s expertise we will be utilising a full range of new technologies to achieve this in both retrofit work and new build homes.”
