They are also designed to “life-time home” principles with flexible layouts, featuring vital input from the South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership. Even wildlife is not forgotten, with swift bricks providing much-needed nesting spaces, thanks to advice from the RSPB.
Ayrshire Housing chair, Simon Leslie, commented: “This development was made possible by the South Ayrshire Council’s affordable housing policy. We were also pleased to work closely with Lynch Homes in realising the project within the overall masterplan for northeast Troon.
“A grant from the Scottish Government of over £4m has ensured that the rents are affordable now and in the coming years. The balance of our costs is being funded from Government facilitated bond finance through the specialist lender, Allia.
“Congratulations are also due to the builder Cruden and our architect ARPL of Ayr. We must also thank McColm civil and structural engineers, Langmuir and Hay quantity surveyors and Smart Inspections.”
