Attendees at Ayrshire Housing’s 2016 Annual General Meeting heard that the Association’s finances remain healthy and its staff are meeting the challenging delivery targets set by the Board.

The well attended event also saw two new tenants joining the Board.

Board member, Councillor John Hampton, standing in for chair Rhonda Leith who was unwell, said: “I’m pleased to say that we have had another eventful and successful year. Our staff to deliver excellent services and are working hard to maintain our enviable financial strength.

“Next month, our tenants will receive their annual report on how we are meeting our Scottish Social Housing Charter obligations. It will show that the quality of our services continues to better the majority of other housing associations and councils.

“Our latest development at Cross Gait in Ayr is at last finished. All our new tenants who have waited so patiently are delighted with their new homes. At its opening, we were pleased to hear the praise from South Ayrshire’s Depute Provost about our contribution to meeting housing demands through the provision of high quality housing.

“Over the year, we have also been working ever more actively in the community. We launched our Building Community Capacity Fund and built on relationships with local schools.”

The meeting concluded with the presentation of the annual garden and pet competition awards. These included a rosette for Maddox a “wild kitten” who lives with Tarbolton tenant Megan Kennedy.
